About this project

What is Japan–EasternEurope?

Japan–EasternEurope is a non-profit language & culture initiative for women from Eastern Europe who feel a quiet connection to Japan and want to learn more in a respectful, low-stress way.

For women who love Japan, but don’t know where to start

  • You are from Eastern Europe (for example: Romania, Ukraine, Poland, etc.).
  • You are 18+ and interested in Japanese language and everyday culture.
  • You want a calm, safe place to practice speaking with real Japanese people.
  • You prefer small groups, not big chaotic classes.
  • You like the idea of long-term, respectful friendships with people in Japan.
Important: This is not a dating site, not a marriage agency, and not a place to sell anything. It is a language & culture project where normal people meet through learning.

Who is behind the project?

  • Organised by Lingua Amoris, a small international project about language & human connection.
  • Supported by Japanese partners who believe in cultural exchange.
  • Teachers are calm, patient people who respect your time and your life.

Lingua Amoris does not charge you for classes. Our costs are covered by partner projects and future language-related services.

28-day starter class

What you learn in 28 days.

Our starter program is 28 days. You do not need any Japanese before you join. We mix simple language, real culture, and lots of speaking practice.

Class style

We keep classes small and friendly.

Zoom · 60–75 minutes 1–2 times per week 5–10 students per group Japanese + soft English support
  • We focus on real life Japanese, not only textbooks.
  • You will hear natural pronunciation and practice speaking every time.
  • You can ask questions about culture, daily life, work, relationships, etc.
Week 1 – Sounds, greetings & “you”
Basic sounds, how to say your name, where you are from, and simple greetings. We talk about your story: why you like Japan, what you imagine about life there.
Week 2 – Daily life & feelings
Words for food, work, study, home and feelings. You practice “small talk” in Japanese, with easy English help when needed.
Week 3 – Culture & communication
How Japanese people say “yes”, “no”, “maybe”, “I’m not sure” in a soft way. We compare Eastern European and Japanese styles of communication.
Week 4 – Real conversation practice
Role-plays: café, first meeting, asking questions, making simple plans. We record short parts (optional) so you can hear your own improvement.

After the starter class, you can continue in further levels if you enjoy the style and want to grow more.

How to join

How it actually works – step by step.

We try to keep everything simple and transparent. You always know what is happening and why.

1. Apply (short form)

  • Fill a short form with your name, country, age (18+), language level and motivation.
  • Tell us how much English you understand (it is okay if it is not perfect).
  • We use this only to build balanced groups. We do not sell or share your data.

2. Receive class invitation

  • If there is a free place, you receive the Zoom link and schedule by email.
  • If the group is full, we put you on the waiting list for the next 28-day course.

3. Join the 28-day class

  • You join from your home, with camera on or off (your choice).
  • Teacher guides the class in simple Japanese, with English help.
  • Sometimes a Japanese “guest” joins to help with conversation practice.

4. Decide what you want next

  • If you like the style, you can continue to the next level.
  • If you are busy, you can stop – there is no contract, no penalty.
  • You can also stay in touch with other students as friends if you wish.
Money & safety

Is it really free? What is the “catch”?

It is a healthy question. There are many strange “marriage” and “dating” services online. We want to be very clear about what this project is, and what it is not.

What you never pay for

  • No tuition fee for the 28-day starter class.
  • No “membership fee”.
  • No payments to talk to teachers or guests.
  • No hidden charges or surprise invoices.
Who pays then?
Our project is supported by partner programs and private sponsors who care about safe, respectful connections between Japan and Eastern Europe.

What this project is not

  • Not an agency that “sells” women or men.
  • Not a place where you are pressured to marry or date.
  • Not a visa, immigration or legal service.

We focus on language, culture, and human understanding. Any friendships or relationships that grow from classes are natural and voluntary.

Questions

FAQ – questions you might quietly have.

You do not have to be sure yet. It is okay to read, think, and decide later.

  • Do I have to show my face on camera?
No. We recommend camera on for better communication, but you can start with camera off if you feel shy or nervous. We respect your pace.
  • Is my English good enough?
If you can read this page, your English is already enough. We use simple English when needed, but the main focus is Japanese.
  • Can I join if I am not from Romania or Ukraine?
Yes. We are based on “Eastern Europe” as a region, not only one country. At the moment we especially welcome women from Romania, Ukraine and Poland, but other countries are also possible.
  • Will someone push me to meet or date Japanese men?
No. Some students may naturally become friends with Japanese guests or teachers, but there is no obligation and no pressure.
  • I am married or in a relationship. Can I still join?
Our main focus is single women who want more connection with Japan in their future. If you are married or already in a committed relationship, we may ask you to join only language-focused sessions, not social ones.
  • Can I trust you with my data?
We only collect basic information to organise the class (name, age 18+, country, email). We do not sell your data to advertisers or third parties.
